Born in Providence, he was the oldest son of the late Constantino and Euple (Narcissi) Scuncio and brother of Joseph Scuncio, Carol Benedetti, Evelyn Rozzero and the late Richard Scuncio.
Anthony lived his life to the fullest, enjoying music, cooking and other loves. He was also an avid fisherman and scuba diver becoming President of his club where he participated in many RI Tournaments. One of his greatest was winning the 1970 Hi Neighbor Pt Judith Bass and Bluefish Tournament. Then Gov. J. Joseph Garrahy handed him the trophy and he purchased his first home with the winnings moving his family to Cranston.
Anthony proudly worked at the Narragansett Brewery, owned and operated Plastering Inc and worked for Superior Electric. Everyone associated with these businesses noted Anthony for his infectious smile and Large Lunches he would cook for all around him. He was a very caring advocate for the needy as well.
He was the loving father of Anthony J. Scuncio, Jr., Michael Scuncio and his wife Laura, Daniel Scuncio and his girlfriend Dawn Vittorioso, mother to Daniels children Sheila Scuncio (Flori) and Donna Scuncio and her life partner Michael Palmaccio.
