Anthony L. Martin, 53, of Manville, died suddenly Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Landmark Medical Center after being stricken at home. He was the beloved husband of Maria E. (Conca) Martin for the past eight years, and loving step-father to her daughter, Elaina.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of Suzanne (Gladu) Martin and the late Leonard Martin.
Tony served our country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was an elementary school music teacher for many years and graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Masters of Education Degree.
In his spare time, "Big T" as he was also known to his close friends, was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and cycling as well as riding his motorcycle on the weekends through the New England countryside.
In addition to his wife Maria, step-daughter Elaina, and his mother Suzanne, he leaves two sisters, Terry Poisson and her husband Al, and Rachel Garneau and her husband David, and several nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends whom he referred to as his "brothers.”
The funeral and burial will be private.
