Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Luisa (Pascale) Chece.
The beloved wife of the late Alfred DeAngelis, Anna was pre-deceased by her son Dennis R. DeAngelis and her granddaughter Keri Anne O’Donnell. She was the devoted mother of Alan S. DeAngelis (Valerie), Karen O’Donnell (Frank), David A. DeAngelis (Lisa), and the mother-in-law of Linda DeAngelis. She was the cherished grandmother of Kristi Mangiocca (Christopher), Ariana DeAngelis (Andrea), Elyse O’Donnell, David John DeAngelis, Alan DeAngelis (Jessica), Kelly DeAngelis (Vinny), Kayla Orleck (Brad), Kara Iafrate (Mike), Michael DeAngelis, Patrick O’Donnell (Kayla-Rose), and Mitch DeAngelis. She was the great grandmother of Emerson, Farrah, Katarina, Gigi, Jaxson, Layla, Patrick Jr, Victoria and Liliana. She was the sister of the late John Chece, Palma Forte and Pasco Chece.
As a young woman, Anna studied nursing and sewing. These early studies formed the foundation for her life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. Cooking was her forte, and no one ever left her house on Lubec Street hungry – or without containers filled with leftovers. Summers were spent at the beach house in Narragansett, where she hosted gatherings for family and friends. Anna and Al, her husband of 57 years, enjoyed travelling, inside the United States and abroad, taking the whole family to Italy in 1979. After Al passed away, Anna continued to travel and enjoyed family life with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She fiercely loved her family and lived for spending time with everyone. Anyone who knew her knows that Anna loved her frequent pilgrimages to the area’s casinos with whoever would take her. Through it all, Anna was a shining example of strength and determination and a willingness to accept the wonders of the world around her.
