Alice was born in Providence on June 19, 1929, the daughter of Hagop and Arshalous (Madoian) Madoian. She worked part time in the North Providence Grammar School Libraries. She also worked at the Rhode Island College James P. Adams Library for 25 years. Alice was a proud member of the North Providence Women’s Democratic League for many years, holding various offices. She enjoyed League Duckpin Bowling well into her 90s.
Alice is survived by her loving children; Deborah A. Laffey with her husband Francis of Florida, and Mark A. Morrissey with his wife Julia of Rhode Island. She was the loving medzmommy of Max, Finn and Tempest Morrissey. Alice leaves brothers; Aram Madoian and John Madoian (Helen), and sisters Aroxie Apigian (Ned), and Ann “Bege” Koroghlian. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Vaghinag Koroghlian, sister-in-law Virginia (Simonian) Madoian, and brothers-in-law Joseph, Thomas and Eugene Morrissey and their spouses. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Funeral will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 8:30 am from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am in The Church of St. Augustine, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Patrick Academy, 244 Smith Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02908, in her memory, will be appreciated.
