William “Bill” Dennis Bowling, age 79, of Bramwell, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Born in Berwind, WV, he was the son of the late Dennis and Lucille Bowling. He and his wife have owned and operated a local business in the greater Bluefield area for the past 28 years. He was a veteran of both the US Army and the US Air Force. He was a member of the Bluefield Elks Lodge #269, the Bramwell Mason’s Lodge #45, the Beni Kedem Shriner’s, the Princeton Chamber of Commerce, the Bluefield Chamber of Commerce, the Bluewell Lion’s Club, and was a past member of the Bluefield Sales Executive Club and the Bluefield Sons of Italy, and was a former volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Of all of his community service, he was most dedicated to his volunteer work as a van driver for the Shriner’s, ferrying countless local children to Shriner’s Hospitals in many surrounding states so that they could receive needed medical care. Other interests included spending time with his friends from the Elk’s Lodge and his friends from Big Creek High School in War, WV, reminiscing about the old days.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Jean; his brother John (Brenda) Bowling and his niece Carol Ann (Chuck) Frye; his children Kim (James) Largen, Dennis Todd (Shirley) Bowling, Dorian Bowling, and Deana Bowling; his step-children Jeff (Lori) Bentley, Tony (Diana) Bentley and Brian (Stephanie) Bentley; his seven grandchildren Hannah, Colleen, Dakota, Jordan, Dillon, Taylor and Jared; his three great-grandchildren Xavier, Laurel and Vale; and his six step-grandchildren Katherine, Matthew, Gregory, Samuel, Claire and Elijah.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, July, 17, 2017, at 2:00pm, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00pm until the service.
