December 4, 1943 – November 20, 2017
At Hospice House, with family at his side, Carlos left this world as gently as he lived after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife and life partner of 50 years, Mildred; son Derek (Tracy); daughter Cindy; sisters Zaidah (Prince George) and Nasheba (Winnipeg) and grandchildren Adam, Colin, Danielle and Shelby.
Carlos will be remembered in Prince George and beyond for his long-standing ties to the trucking community and Inland Kenworth. He shared his passions for boating, fishing, aviation and music with many others over the years and all will recall an adventure or two that involved Carlos in the driver’s seat!
Carlos was a committed and active member of the Prince George Elks, contributing to a community he loved, was proud of, and always gave back to.
A natural musician, Carlos played banjo and sang in the Elks Elastic Band, entertaining at venues throughout the city for many years. He especially enjoyed an impromptu jam session with his grandchildren who share his love of music!
No formal service at Carlos’ request, but please join friends and family for a casual social gathering at the Elks Hall (663 Douglas St.) from 3-7pm on Friday December 1, 2017. Feel free to share fond memories, swap stories and enjoy food and refreshments in Carlos’ honour.
