Morris was married to Claudine “Bettie” McKenna for 64 years before her passing in 2019. He is survived by his son Bill McKenna of Emerald Hills, California.
Morris was a resident of Prattville since 1970. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force rising to major and completed tours of duty in Korea and England in the 1960s. Upon completion of military service in 1973 he was a United States postal carrier for 20 years until retiring in 1996. He was a dedicated civil servant and family man.
Morris was an avid RC modeler and a founder of “The Fountain City Flyers R/C Club.” He belonged to the Lions Club for many years. In addition, he had many diverse interests and became accomplished in restoring antique player pianos, photography, stained glass, stone polishing, and jewelry making. He had a passion for building and fixing almost anything. He loved animals and rescued many cats and dogs. He was devoted to his wife and son and was loved by many. He will be missed by all who knew him. A true southern gentleman.
A memorial service for Morris will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Ridout’s Memorial Chapel in Prattville.
