BAKER, John Wesley, 72, a Prattville resident, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18th at 2:00 PM at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel. Burial will follow in Chapman Cemetery with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mr. Baker was born on January 3, 1938 and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served shipboard with the U.S. Pacific Fleet. He retired after many years of service as a professional commercial and residential painter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-five years, Sara, and is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law; Sharon and Billy Smith, Cheryl and Rex Roeten, Tammy and Ricky Bazzell, Teresa and Billy Baker all of Prattville. One sister, Gloria Hamilton of Huntsville, a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Betty Bailey of Montgomery, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
