Janet Neighbors

Janet Neighbors, 74, of Autaugaville, Alabama, passed away September 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, JB and Lurline Neighbors. She is survived by her husband, Billy Gilmore; children, James Marc Petrunic (Kelli) and Christopher Michael Petrunic (Ashley); grandchildren, Garrett Petrunic (Meagan), Faith Petrunic Buckner (Jake), Hope Petrunic Palmer (Luke), Ava Petrunic, Aly Petrunic, Bennet Petrunic and Caroline Petrunic; great grandchildren, Brantley, Melanie, Asher and Levi Petrunic.

Janet loved her family dearly. She also enjoyed fly fishing and traveling. Janet received her BS in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. She began her career at the Prattville, AL mill in 1975 in the Technical Department. She held many positions while at Prattville including Manager of Technical Services, Production Manager, Power Maintenance Manager, Manager Manufacturing Excellence, Area Manager Pulp & Wood, and several others. Janet has been the lead and been involved in major projects and rebuilds in all areas of a paper mill. Her experience in all aspects of a paper mill and the paper industry is unparalleled. Janet moved to Pineville, LA as Mill Manager in September of 2007. She moved to Mill Manager of the Pine Hill, AL in 2008.

A visitation for Janet will be Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Ridouts Prattville Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Methodist Church, Prattville, Alabama.
