Gregory “Nic” Hilyer, 36, of Deatsville, Alabama, passed away March 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Hilyer; grandparents, Pat Davenport and Bob and Betty Berry. He is survived by his mother, Donna Hilyer; sister, Bridgit Watkins (Scott); niece, Mary Grace Watkins; nephews John Scott Watkins and Hilyer Watkins; his good boy dog, Dexter and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Nic graduated from Auburn University in 2010 with a degree in Agricultural Economics where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was an avid Auburn fan and enjoyed his time in college to the fullest. Nic also loved to go the beach. Nic was the type of man who never met a stranger and his smile and laughter were contagious and he would light up a room. After 6 years as a teacher, he left the classroom and began a career at Rheem Manufacturing in Montgomery.
Pallbearers for Nic's services are Travis Dement, Cody Causey, Brett Adams, Chad Young, Josh Toole, Blake Lambert. Honorary Pallbearers are JohnScott Watkins and Hilyer Watkins.
A visitation for Nic will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM with the funeral service at 2 PM at Ridout's-Brown-Service Prattville, 347 East Main Street, Prattville, AL 36067. Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery, Prattville, Alabama.
