Following a several year battle with extreme difficulty, but yet filled with bravery, grace, determination and above all, dignity, Glenda Kay Jones peacefully passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Even during her struggle, she had a quick wit and great sense of humor. A daughter of the late Horace and Era Phillips Jones, Glenda Kay was born September 19, 1951, in Greenville, Alabama. Also preceding her in death is a brother, Marcus Jones. She was a legal secretary with the State of Alabama. A friend to all, she was always thinking of others and giving to others. She was also a rescuer of animals. She loved the mountains and beaches and enjoyed fishing, as well as watching golf and football. Gardening and interior decorating were also hobbies she enjoyed. Survivors include her children, Kerri Conger of Prattville, AL and Cody (Despina) Conger of Pensacola, FL; siblings, David (Shirley) Jones of Verbena, AL, Janice Sconyers of Havana, FL, Therrel (Frances) Jones of Scottsboro, AL, Michael (Maria) Jones of Dunnellan, FL, Pat (T.R.) Munn of Ozark, AL and Nancy Easterlinig of Ariton, AL. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Kali Callies, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones. We will miss your beautiful smile, the twinkle in your eyes, your contagious laugh and kind and giving personality. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM CST, Sunday, November 6, 2016 from Ridout's Prattville Chapel, 347 East Main St., Prattville, AL 36067.
