Daniel Wayne Jones Sr.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Jones; as well as his mother, Betty Jones. He is survived by his wife, Diane Jones; children, Kim Jacksland (Rusty) and Daniel Jones Jr.; as well as his grandchildren, Sam Jacksland and Silas Jacksland.

On July 7 of 1949 Daniel was born in Tuskegee, AL. He grew up in Auburn, AL and then later moved to Prattville, AL. Daniel had an honorable and full career serving as an Auburn police officer for 15 years and retired from the Prattville Police Department after 17 years. He then spent 10 years at the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel was known to enjoy reading his Bible and spending time with his family. His favorite place to spend time with his family was on the beach during the summer. He also loved to go fishing and hunting.

A visitation for Daniel will be held at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held the following day on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 1:00pm at East Memorial Baptist Church at 1779 Fairview Ave, Prattville, AL 36066.

Pallbearers for Daniel’s services will be Skip Tallmage, David Fowler, Clint Lee, Bryan Davis, Mike Vineyard, Ty Ray and Greg Varner.
