Eric J. Peterson

Funeral Service for Eric J. Peterson, age 70 of Norwood will be held at 6:00 pm at the Garner Funeral Home Potsdam with Pastor Lee Sweeney officiating. Calling hours will be on Tuesday (May 17, 2016) from 2:00pm till the time of the service. Mr. Peterson passed away on Friday (May13, 2016).

Born on October 11, 1945 in Potsdam. He graduated from Potsdam High School. Eric married Bonnie L. Orologio on August 11, 1973 at St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam. He retired from Merrimans’s Inc. in Norwood after 43 years.

Eric is survived by his wife Bonnie; his daughter Erica Clawson of Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren Taylir, Ayden and Brady; a sister Mrs. Robert (Joan Reagan of Potsdam; nephews Randy Reagan and Ronald Reagan.

He is predeceased by his parents Dwight “Earl” and Tulla Mae (Place) Peterson and a brother Richard Peterson.

Eric enjoyed fishing and taking pictures of old barns throughout the North Country. He loved every precious moment spent with his daughter and grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. He was a very kind hearted man and was loved and admired by many. He had a large extended family of very close friends. Eric spent many morning with his “coffee club” buddies laughing and sharing stories. His sense of humor was unique and enjoyed by all. He will be deeply missed especially by his cat “Sadie.”
