She is predeceased by her father Gary Hurley.
Elaine was born on August 14, 1959, in Ogdensburg, NY to Gary and Judy Clark
Hurley. She was a 1977 graduate of Potsdam Central High School. She received an
Associate Degree from SUNY Canton in Hotel Restaurant Management. Her unique career
experiences allowed her to build lasting relationships. She was a sales representative for Airwalk in California for a few years, which allowed her to travel the world. She then moved back home and bartended at the former Chalet Restaurant, worked for Bill Luther, and the ARC in Norwood, NY. She then started her own day care business and operated it in Colton for the past 26 years. Over those years, Elaine loved so many children in the community like her own and provided them with the most beautiful childhood. She was an expert baker, but her specialty was her intricate and beautiful birthday cakes she made for her family, friends, and daycare children. She had a love of taking family photos every chance she could get, and because of her we have countless memories to hang on to. She had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. What her family and friends will miss the most about her though is her generosity, compassion, and kindness. She was one of the most selfless and giving individuals. All who knew her were touched by the legacy she left behind. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten for the light she brought to this world.
