Veronica Rodriguez (Vero) of Portland, OR died December 4, 2020 at Providence St. Vincent Hospital in Portland. She was born on August 17, 1981 in French Camp, CA to Efrain Rodriguez Ruiz and Rosa Maria Fernandez.
Veronica moved to Oregon when she was 14, and has called it home ever since. After attending Roosevelt High School and attaining her GED, Vero worked at Chevron Corporation as a CSR for a little over 10 years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating, movies, making lists, and mother nature. She was a very big animal lover, and loved to dance, sing, play pool, and sit around bonfires.
A free spirit with a heart of gold, she decorated for every holiday -- never missing one, no matter how tired she was -- and loved them all equally because to her every season had its own beauty. She loved to dance to the sound of any music and sing along to songs by artists like Selena Quintanilla, and Rocio Durcal. She was extremely kind and selfless, even leaving little piles of food for ants in the kitchen and feeding the neighborhood cats so they would not go hungry.
She had a great sense of humor and was very good at making everyone feel good about themselves. Vero had an abundant amount of strength and positivity, kept her faith in God, and overcame many obstacles in her life. Not only was she a warrior, she was an extraordinary person and amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend.
Vero is survived by three daughters, Rosalia Rodriguez Gomez, Marisabel Rodriguez Rivera, and Angelina (Lizet) Rodriguez Miramontes, all of Oregon; two grandchildren, Gabriel Rodriguez Garcia and Nayah (Sophia) Rodriguez Reyes; seven siblings, Marina Rodriguez Fernandez, Jesus Rodriguez Fernandez, Efrain Rodriguez Jr, Arturo Anaya Fernandez, Mario Ortiz Fernandez, Elizabeth Ortiz Fernandez, and Alberto Campuzano Fernandez.
Graveside service begins at 2 pm on December 14, 2020 at Finely-Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
