Steven Eugene Flaker was born on February 17, 1960, to parents, Dena Carol Cox, and Eugene B. Flaker. Steve grew up in Southern California and attended Walnut High School in Walnut, California. He relocated to Oregon where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix. Steve had a strong Christian faith.
In April of 1978, Steve began his career with Tektronix in Beaverton Oregon, and later branched off to Danaher. Steve excelled in his career as a Robotic Process Automation expert and Project Manager. Steve held this career for 46 years. This is also where he met Roxanne Orefice, his wife, who would pretend to have issues with her computer just to get him to come and talk to her.
Steve was the kind of man you could count on. He would be there for you if you needed him and all you needed to do was call. He was a wizard at researching things and could figure almost anything out with his research. Steve loved camping, fishing, cruises, and trips to Disney. Steve was also a pilot, scuba diver, and Harley Davidson enthusiast, even owning a few over the years.
Steve was a dedicated family man and provided well for his family which included his beautiful dogs. He loved his family with everything he had.
Steve is survived by his wife, Roxanne Flaker, his three children, Britney Bogosian and her children, William and Abigail, his son Dustyn Flaker and his wife, Melissa and their children, Andrew, Jace, Levi, and Sydney, his daughter, Samantha Flaker, mother, Dena Cox DeShirlia, mother-in-law, Doris Orefice, four sisters, Linda Jones, Kaye Rich, Karon Jarvis, and Crystel Olson. Steve has a large family that also includes ten half-siblings, three stepsiblings, brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who all love Steve very much.
A memorial is planned for 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home, which is located at 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086.
