RIP Steve! Just found out, Love and Condolences to his family

Steve was my big brother who watched over me as a tiny girl. He took me to his friends house when he was in high school and I was a baby. He was always there for me and helped father me when we lost our dad in my early twenties. The love, laughter, wisdom and long talks will be greatly missed. I looked up to him so much and always knew he was forever changed after Vietnam. He will always hold a very special place in my heart. We lost you way too soon, brother. I am  so sad that the earth has left you
You were a constant in my life since Jan Javorek introduced us back in 1972
You mattered to him and  mattered to
me
You counseled and informed and opined and frustrated and bought joy to my life
In my early years you were a rock 
In my later years, an anchor 
May you blaze across the remains of my life amd into the  future for your amazing family 
My heart goes out to Tuyen, Michelle, Lily, David, Brendan, Eric and John today

Steve and I met in November 1968 at Ft Lewis Washington.  Be were assigned to the same platoon for basic and infantry training. With last names like Fee and Franzino, we were connected from the start.   This was the beginning of a lifelong journey as brothers in arms and best of friends. Hard not too love the guy, smart, funny and sarcastic. We became friends right away. In April of 1969, we were deployed to Vietnam. Lucky us, we ended up in the 1st infantry division, the same company and platoon. Soon Jan Javorick aka JJ joined us. The three amigo's. We completed our tours and all return back to Kansas, to finish our time. Steve and I have stayed in touch throughout the years. Visits and many phone calls. Last call was this past veterans day. Steve called and a great talk. The last thing we said was how only the two of us went through that entire experience together. The last thing he said was live you man.

Steve, you were not only my Brother but also my best friend. You influenced my life.  My love of cars I learned from you after you brought your 37 Chev home from Fort Riley- home of the Big Red  One.We worked well together at Don Rasmussen company for years managing the Peugeot service department, then later working together at various other shops.We had so many good times with friends and family I will never forget .Thank you for always being there for me, from the Boston album you gave to me on my 16th birthday to teaching me to drive a stick shift on your 63 Peugeot you were the best.   love you Brother.

Steve’s Mom, Dad, Brothers and Sisters.

Steve is my cousin and fellow Viet Nam veteran. I remember most vividly the times spent at the grandparents farm in the summer with him and my other cousins. He was witty, funny and a wanna be fisherman like his dad. He never spoke much of his military service but I knew what he had endured. We have the watch. Be safe my cousin, friend and soldier.

Steve I remember meeting you as a teenager through my brother in law Jan Javorek and my sister Judeth Newham. You and Jan being Vietnam buddies and hero's!
You became part of our family instantly! Contagious smile, personality and one of our family who would in future introduce your family to ours with a marriage Jolly  and Tham and my sisters granddaughters and my great neices! How beautiful lives can weave!

There was something really special about Steve. He was authentic and passionate; just his smile could cure my harshest mood. I'm really glad I got to know him over the last few years and grateful for the stories and experiences he shared with me - about his service in Vietnam, his world travels, our mutual love of European cars, and about his family. I will cherish those conversations, shared tears, and hugs forever. May the Fee family find peace and comfort in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

In September of 2020 Patrick had to evacuate our home do to the wild fires . I was in Alabama for work and couldn’t get home.  I called Steve and 
explained  the situation .  He told me not to worry that he would help Pat with the evacuation .
I always thought of Steve as my brother and someone I could count on if I ever needed help . 
Patrick and I will miss him more than words can say.
