Bob was born on June 27, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Bob and Marian Beck, who preceded him in death. Bob grew up playing baseball, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He attended Green Hills High School in Cincinnati and graduated in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War.
He met the love of his life, Brenda in 1969 at the Rose Festival in Portland, Oregon and they were married in 1970. Bob and Brenda have three children. Kenny (Tina) was born in 1971, Billy (Renee) in 1972, and Christina Eisenhauer (Jim) in 1978.
Bob worked for Portland Bottling Company in sales and retired from Albertsons as a truck driver. Bob really liked sports, hunting deer in the Ochoco National Forest in Central Oregon and fishing. Bob spent years coaching youth baseball, softball and basketball and was a role model to many kids. Bob was known for his excited loud laughter. Bob would often say “just do your best, that’s all you can do,” and “treat people the way you want to be treated”.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Brenda of 52 years, his three children, 11 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
A visitation for Bob will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Finley-Sunset Hills Mortuary, 6801 SW Sunset Hwy, Portland, OR 97225.
A Navy Honors burial service will be held Monday, November 7, 2022 at 9:45am at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, OR 97086.
