Richard Junior Paul passed away on June 18, 2022. He was born on November 2, 1933 in Dorchester, WI. His parents were Henry and Florence (Raymond) Paul. They had eight children together; Isabel, James, Clifford, Richard, Donna, Gerry, Patsy and Daniel.
Richard (Dick) grew up on a dairy farm and learned his strong work ethic as a child. In 1956, he joined the Navy and learned many skills which helped further his career in construction. After his military service, he joined his brother Cliff in Oregon to start a tree trimming business.
In Portland, Oregon is where Dick met the love of his life, Joanna Lee Himes. They were married on June 25, 1960 at Our Savior Church. Their first child, a son Timothy Howard was born on January 26, 1965 and Tammy Jo, daughter, was born on December 15, 1969.
Dick Paul and his brother Cliff started Paul Brothers, Inc. a landscape construction company in 1968. Later in 1992, they split the company and Dick started JP Contractors, Inc. named after his wife Joanne. Dick is well known for all the parks projects he has done in Oregon and Washington. His hard work ethic and mentoring was embraced by his business associates, family and friends. He finally retired in 2013 .
Richard is survived by his wife, Joanna, his son, Tim and daughter, Tammy and four grandchildren, Kirk, Anna, Alaina and Grant.
