She married the love of her life, Ted Scarpino, on the 25th of November 1945 just a few months after WWII had ended. Together they made their home in Stockton, California where their three children, Judy, Marlene and Mario were born. The family moved to Portland in 1965 where Pat was an active member first in Holy Redeemer and later in Queen of Peace parish. Pat continued working part-time first at Silver Falls Packing Co., followed by a few years at Shaw Surgical and into her early 70's at Oregon Rails Federal Credit Union.
In retirement Pat was an active parish and community volunteer. She contributed her time driving for meals on wheels, as a lay Eucharistic minister to the sick and helping out in various ways in Queen of Peace parish.
Ted preceded her in death in the fall of 2003 the same year that they moved to Assumption Village where she has in past years served on the resident council. Because of her kind and gentle nature she has been loved and appreciated by residents and staff alike.
Mrs. Scarpino is survived by her three children, Judy (Scarpino) Armstrong, Marlene (Scarpino) Jacobsson, and Mario Scarpino; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
If you would prefer to make a donation in in lieu of flowers, please do so, in her memory, to the charity of your choice.
A memorial mass will be held on June 16, 2018 at Noon at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by a reception at Peace Lutheran Church Hall.
