Otis Clay Rush Jr.

Otis C. Rush Jr. was born to Otis C. Rush Sr. and Virginia R. Rush on the 28th day of August in 1967. He transitioned at the age of 57 on Thursday, September 26th, 2024. He is preceded in death by his father Otis C. Rush Sr. He leaves to carry on his memory of his mother Virginia; his siblings Natalie and Sterling; his niece; Brittney Teague (Michael); nephew, Ezekiel Teague, Ambrose Teague of Portland, along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from Oregon and Texas to the inclusion of like-brothers, sisters, children; extended family, and friends OR, TX, WA, OK, CA, MO, MI, CO, AL, AR, MS.

Otis is affectionately known by many nicknames, the most popular being J, JJ, and JT. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1985, and from there he went to Portland Community College where he focused on automotives for his basic studies. From then he went on to work a few years at the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Portland, followed by several years at Oregon Steel Mills.

Otis was best known for his smile. His talent became known for breaking and fixing things at a very young age. When he would have determined that he was going to break something apart, without discipline, he would make it a point to fix it back together. This grew into his love for fixing cars and gaining as much knowledge as he could in that area. He liked working on vehicles and doing odd jobs. He had a myriad of family and friends who depended on his help and assistance to fix things.

Otis enjoyed cooking, eating, and letting others enjoy it too! Anyone who knew Otis, would each have a story to tell.

"The last conversation I had with my brother was if he had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and he told me that he did. He made sure I knew what he told me. I repeated my question and he repeated his answer. That was a cherished and serious moment between the two of us."

A visitation service for Otis will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229, followed by a Graveside Comm from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

Otis will be laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, Oregon.
