Louis G. Harris was born to Emil Harris and Johnnie Mae Williams in Plano, Texas on 11/15/1931. He was the oldest of four siblings. He completed high school in Texas. He was a butcher in New Hoff Texas and moved to Portland, Or in 1956. He was hired by Armor & Co and worked for 35.5 years as a butcher and supervisor. He retired in 1993.
He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and served as an elder for many years. He is loved by many.
He was married to Alma R. Harris, Miss Ruthie, as he affectionately called her for 61 years. His daughters are LaRenda King and Felecia Harris of Portland, Or. His son is Louis G. Harris Jr. of Portland, Or. His sister is Ruby Vaughn of Dalles, Tx. Grandchildren Dayla Ruth King and Jaime King, and great grandchildren Robert Coleman III and Niasia Coleman. Along with a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a public viewing on March 7, 2014 at Caldwell's Funeral Home from 10am-4pm.
