Lloyd H Werner

Lloyd was born March 31, 1930, to Robert and Wanda (Kroll) Werner, at Bathgate, North Dakota. Lloyd grew up on a farm near Bathgate, North Dakota. He went to a one room school across from the family farm, then went to Cavalier High School, Cavalier, North Dakota through his junior year. Lloyd moved with his family to Oregon and completed high school, graduating in Woodburn, Oregon.

Lloyd began his meat cutting career in Salem, Oregon, then moved back to Portland, Oregon where he worked for Fred Meyer, Albertson's, and Trade Well.

He traveled to visit Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and Thailand.

In 1967 he moved to Canada where he spent 25 years farming, raising raspberries, and cattle. He also cut meat from his locker plant.

In 1992 Lloyd sold his farm in Canada and moved back to Milwaukie, Oregon, where he ran a landscaping business. Lloyd took care of his parents for many years until they passed away. He has continued to live in Milwaukie, Oregon, enjoying his yard work and planting and raising his garden and fruit trees until his death.

He is survived by sisters Dorothy Pfenning (Jacksonville, OR), Helen McMartin (Oregon City, Oregon), Marlene Anderson (Laconner, Washington); sister-in-law, Ruther Werner (Sioux Falls, South Dakota); brothers, Ervin (Carol) Werner (Woodland, California).

Lloyd is also survived by nieces and nephews, Catherine and Gary Paulson and family (Edinburg, North Dakota), David and Gail Pell and family (Drayton, North Dakota), Ruth and Kermit Rollefstad and family (Grand Forks, North Dakota), Ron and Gwen Wener and family (Cavalier, North Dakota), Connie and Gary Campbell and family (Olympia, Washington) Edith and Richard Bonnett and family (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), Karin and Gary Hartje and Family, Barb and Dick Funke and family (Sioux Falls, South Dakota), Dale and Jennifer Pfenning (Mission Viejo, California), Michelle and Thomas Seaton and family (Woodland, California), Michael and Lenny Pfenning and family (Jacksonville, Oregon), Beverly and Mike Gornick and family, Donna Petty and family (Oregon City, Oregon), Duane and Sandy McMartin and family (Las Vegas, Nevada), Robert and Meijean Anderson and family (Portland, Oregon), Elizabeth Anderson and family (Lynnwood, Washington).

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruby Peil, and Renata Shelton; brothers, Arthur, Allen, Helmut, and Edward; brothers-in-law, Alex Peil, Don McMartin, Milt Shelton, Leroy Anderson;sister-in-law Alvina (Ed) Werner, and nephew Donald Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd, Portland, Oregon 97086 with a funeral service and burial to follow.
