Larry Dale Holland (“Big Larry”), went to be with His Lord, Tuesday January 14, 2020, at his home in Birkenfeld, OR surrounded by his family. Larry was born December 18, 1954 in Ceres, CA to Jack and Dorothy Holland. He was married to Leona Oxley March 5, 1977 in Modesto, CA.
Larry was an incredible family man who loved spending time with them and his close friends. He served as a volunteer firefighter and enjoyed helping people. Larry was an avid traveler, having traveled to 17 different countries, and enjoyed discovering new places with Leona by his side. He was known for his ear-to-ear smile and a big laugh that filled the room. While Larry said his biggest asset was his brain, it was the people around him that meant the most, along with his insatiable love for ice cream. Larry was a fighter, and battled brain cancer with a vengeance until his passing, with Leona by his side every step of the way.
He is survived by his wife Leona Holland and two sons, Larry Holland, Jr. of Birkenfeld, OR and Timothy Holland of Battle Ground, WA and his daughter Kira Sprague of Modesto, CA. He was blessed with seven grandchildren – Donovan Benjamin, Nathaniel Holland, Gavin Benjamin, Devin Benjamin, Faith Holland, Autumn Richards (step-granddaughter), and Xander Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Dorothy and a fraternal twin brother Garry Gale Holland.
Memorial donations for Larry may be sent to Sue McCullough (71410 Northshore Dr Birkenfeld, OR 97016) to help purchase an AED Defibrillator for the community he lived in, IN MEMORY OF LARRY.
