How do I know
because on a spring day
when the pink petals
of my cherry tree start to blossom
Or when you hear the wind blowing
through the leaves of a maple tree
Or when it’s raining
and the sun is shining
Or on a warm summer night
When you can see all the stars
When the moon is out in the daylight
When you look in the distance
on a fall sunny day
and see majestic colors
shining red and orange across the hilltops
When you hear the sound of the ocean waves
Or the water rushing against the rocks
in a small creek
The whispering rain that touches the ground
without making a sound
And thunder and lightening ending
with a beautiful rainbow
The simmering smell of a lilac tree
As you listen to the singing meadowlark
That is how I know.
