A vibrant and compassionate mother of two passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2023. Kristina was unconditionally devoted to her children and her life partner, Dylan Webb. She also had an exceptional bond with her mother throughout her life that transcended parenting into best friends, confidants, and co-cheerleaders in each other’s lives. Additionally, she loved and was loved deeply by her stepfather Bryan, her grandparents, cousins, and many other family and friends.
Her family followed her mother’s parents from California to Portland when she was young and quickly grew into an extended set of close cousins, in-laws, “second” moms, aunts, uncles, and others she called family.
Kristina’s life was deeply impacted by the loss of her younger sister, Ray-Anne, to a brain tumor in 2005. The fierce empathy and advocacy she showed in adulthood was forged during her sister’s illness and her family’s subsequent grief and healing process.
Undaunted and fearless in the face of new experiences, Kristina was determined to find the positive in every situation. She was an incredibly GOOD person--good to the people in her life, good to Dylan, good to her kids. She could change the mood in a room with her infectious smile--and she always chose to smile.
She was a vocal advocate for healthy living and enjoyed athletics including water sports, hiking, and more. A graduate of Centennial High School, she competed on school soccer and dance teams. She enjoyed advancing at her work and was proud to have recently purchased their family’s first home, in Gervais.
She is survived by her children, Jaunie-Ray and Connor James, life partner Dylan Webb, mother Crystal Hunter, stepfather Bryan Hunter, father Jason Copeland, and grandparents Steve and Teri Gary, Robert (Bob) Zellin and Elizabeth (Liz) Zellin.
Graveside services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, OR on Wednesday August 2, 2023, at 11:00. A celebration of her life by friends and family will follow at Oxbow Regional Park in the Alder Day Use Picnic Area.
