John Andrew Myers

John received his primary education from Blessed Sacrament Catholic School from 1st – 8th grade. It was at this school where his foundation of Faith in his Religious beliefs was nurtured, as well as where he excelled academically. John graduated from Jefferson High School. During his tenure at Jefferson, he was a proud member of the track team. He was most known for his immaculate hair and his stylish clothes. At night he would twist his hair to make sure his afro was on point! From there he attended Portland Community College (PCC) where he studied Graphic Design.

John was always one who believed in working hard, and being a provider. At a tender young age he started his first business. His Dad would take him hunting & fishing; he seized this opportunity to start selling worms to other fishermen. This was his means to buying his beloved Marvel & D.C. comic books, which he now has a massive collection of. After receiving his certification from PCC, John then worked for a graphic art company for four years. John went on to work for Flemings, now known as United Grocers, and remained a dedicated employee for over 20 years. Happily, he retired from United Grocers and told everyone he was moving to Mexico and invited them to join him.

On July 15th, 1989, John married Yolanda Myers. Through this union he was blessed with two wonderful children, Rhoda & Andrew Myers. He became quite the ideal family man & great provider. He will always be remembered for his love for his cars, which he kept immaculately clean. His first car was a green and black 77’ Chevy, which he loved. His appreciation for old school music, especially Earth, Wind, & Fire. He enjoyed dancing, going out with friends, eating Chinese food, and his playing with his dogs, two of which he named Joe.

June 22nd, 2017, John transitioned to his Heavenly home. Preceding him in death is his Father: Adolph Myers; & Brothers: Leon & Eddie Price. Left to cherish his memories are: His mother Leaetta Myers; Yolanda Myers; Daughter; Rhoda Myers; Son: Andrew Myers; Brother: Adolph Myers Jr. , Lawrence Price; Sister: Tanza Mozee-Taylor, Patricia Brinkley; Nieces & Nephews : Adam, Tika, Kion, Tion, Brandon, Devin, Madison, Kevin, Emanuel, Adrienne, Stacy, Javon. As well as a host of other relatives and friends.
