In my fathers eyes I saw the love God has for me.
Born the chill evening in Ogallala,Nebraska on the date of December 14, 1936 to Charles Louis Peters and May Emma Stone-Peters. No stranger to hard work, he helped with the family livestock and scoured the fields for any and all resources. While still a young child his family moved to the area near 157th and Glisan in Portland,Oregon. His active duty in the Army was served in Panama. He worked what was then a small dairy near 82nd and Sunnyside Rd. He did even more in the Coquille Valley and his own dairy was located on North Bank Road, first left off Hwy 101 as you neared the Coquille River. The Bandon Light House lit our fields, now a wildlife sanctuary. The sweet milk from his farm was sold to the Bandon Cheese Factory. To care for his family, he returned to the Portland area and was employed as an iron worker in Vancouver nearly 35 years where he also served as Shop Steward for the Local 516 at one point of time.
His family was large and was not contained by blood. Everyone he loved is family. His children are Harold Jr., Steven, Cathy and Virginia. His surviving siblings; Donald, Billy, Walter ,Mildred, Dorothy, Hellen. Deceased siblings; Clifford, Leo,Vera, Genevieve and Barabra. Special family deceased and living, with honorable mention and not limited to; Auntie Irene, Darryl Owens, Jack Owens, Grandma Collins, Aunt Rena, Noma, Donna, Crystal, Petra, Bill sr., Bill jr. and Bill Hanley. He was always surrounded by family.
Mourn not for him as he swiftly flew to God, but for the pain of our torn hearts. Pray we wrap our minds around this loss and celebrate the life he lived.
Arrangements under the direction of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, OR.
