Hadley "Lee" Carl Halgren Jr.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Hadley (Lee) Carl Halgren Jr., age 76, who passed away on October 17, 2024. Born in Seattle, Washington on October 9, 1948, to Hadley Carl Halgren Sr. and Vernette Eleanor Larson, Lee's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

Lee grew up in Newberg, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington, where he was a proud graduate of Hudson Bay High School in 1967. After high school, Lee pursued business studies at Clark College, setting the stage for a successful and fulfilling career. In his early years, Lee also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that helped shape him into the strong, courageous man his family and friends knew and loved.

It was through a mutual friend at Ming's Restaurant that Lee met the love of his life, Paula. The two were inseparable from the start, with Paula describing Lee as her best friend and the love of her life. Together, they shared 34 wonderful years, committing to one another in 1991 and officially marrying on February 19, 2019. Their bond was unbreakable, and their love for each other will remain a guiding light for all who knew them.

Lee worked for Keller Supply Company from February 15, 1989, until his passing, where he was a beloved and respected member of the team. He was known for his warmth, dedication, and work ethic, and he forged lasting relationships with colleagues and friends alike. He had a magnetic personality that made those around him feel seen, heard, and valued.

Outside of his professional life, Lee had many passions. A devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, Lee’s love for his teams was unshakeable. He was often seen enjoying the outdoors—whether it was riding his jetski with Paula, gardening, or spending time at the beach. His love of sports was only surpassed by his love for his family, especially when watching football games with his sons Matthew and Tyler, where they shared countless moments of excitement, either side by side or on the phone during every play. He also took immense joy in golfing and spending time with loved ones.

Lee will be remembered for his kind and nonjudgmental nature, his strength and bravery, and his ability to listen and connect with those around him. He was a man who gave the best hugs and always made others feel safe and valued. He showed his children what it meant to be a good man, and those lessons will live on in their hearts forever.

Lee is survived by his devoted wife, Paula Halgren; his five beloved children, Anna, Amy, Crystal, Tyler, and Matthew; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Aden, Shaila, Grace, Jordan, and Noah; and his great-grandchildren, Ava, Madison, Amani, and Amelia. He is also mourned by countless friends who were touched by his generosity, warmth, and friendship.

A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20th at Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home, Reception to follow. We invite all friends and family to join us in honoring Lee’s remarkable life. In his memory, we ask that you cheer just a little bit louder for the Seahawks during the next game you catch, as Lee would have wanted.
