Dion was family oriented and love his son Kyndell more than anything. Dion loved the outside and spending time with his son Kyndell. You could always find Dion and Kyndell out together. Dion son Kyndell was his rock. He had a loving spirit and was a very caring person; Always positive and stayed encouraging others.
Dion was a very uplifting and upbeat person, always with a smile on his face as well as very outgoing. Every time you get around Dion, he stayed making jokes and putting a smile on everyone’s face. His Uncle said," Dion always had a smile that was infectious and contagious. You could not help but smile when you saw him."
His Tee Tee which she referred to him as “Doo Doo” said that he loved the Lord and she loved him dearly, as well as the rest of the family. Dion was filled with so much laughter and energy. One thing to say about him is he lived his life to the fullest.
Dion was preceded in death by his father and grandmother's. He is survived by his mother, Taunya Mayo of San Bernadino California, son Kyndell Matthews of Portland, Oregon, Fiance, Antonia West of Portland, Oregon, sisters, Tapanga Hall and Ja'Rina Mayo of San Bernardino, California, and Laila Matthews and Nia Matthews, of Portland, Oregon, brothers, Jaronte Goldsby and Landis Matthews of Portland, Oregon and his baby brother Tookie. Also his Uncle’s. Dajuan Mayo, Willie Thompson, Wayne Thompson, Willie McCollum, Robert Mayo, Wayne Lewis, Ronald Carter, Lawrence Gunn, Milton Brandy, James Matthews all of Portland, Oregon, Aunt's, Loretta "Tee Tee" Thompson, Brenda Lewis, Faye Lewis all of Portland, Oregon, Betty Ussery and Joyce Glasgow of Los Angeles, California, and a host of cousins.
