Desi was very sweet when I knew her at Key Largo, my condolences and sympathies to her friends and family.

Oh sweet Des, I love you so.

We are 16 or 17 in this pic which makes it 1976 or 77.

Desi and I were tight knit MLC beasties.
We intermittently stayed in touch for over 5 decades. 
All the memories and stories we have together go on forever, the ones that to mind are usually centered around a dog or cat. 
Desi and her grandparents ended up with a puppy I had rescued and started training but wasn't allowed to keep.  The dog named Winter lived a long and happy life as Desi had promised me. We made a pact with each other that we would always make sure to take care of each other's animals should anything ever happen to us. We understood each others obsessions and helped each other with heartbreak. 
I'm going to miss checking in on her and our long reminiscent trips in the "wayback machine". 
Bridget Lisa and I have been working on a forever home for Desi's kitty Bleu. It looks like we have found someone who is perfect. 


My daughter Kristin and I traveled to Portland from San Diego in November, 2019, to celebrate her mother's 80th birthday and to catch up with my niece, Desi.  It was so wonderful to see her and we had such a great time reminiscing.  In light of losing Desi, this visit has become even more important to me and to my daughter.

Des, we were the first in house cashier trainers! We had such a great time working together. I did not know you had passed. My heart is broken. You were such a bright ray of sunshine! RIP my friend.

Desi and I went to MLC school. After high school eventually she and I moved to MercerIsland, (in Seattle), with our boy friends. She was so sweet! In the last several years we connected again. I miss her and she is in my heart. 

Beautiful Desi. I miss you so much!! We shared years of Saturday night dinner movie nights. Christmas was our annual celebration buying each other crazy amount of presents because we were pretending to be each other's boyfriends 😂. I will cherish our memories forever. I'm sad to hear the news of Desi's passing. We met at MLC, and she was always a kind and accepting friend. We would talk after long absenses, and it was as though time had not passed. 
One of thing I will remember most is what a great listener she was.  The last time we spoke, she lent me her ear and a lot of compassion. I love her for it to this day. Thanks, friend, for being there when I needed it,  I will look for you in the night sky.  My deepest condolences to her mom and the rest of her family.

           Desiree was a good friend of mine for a long time. I meet her when I was on dialysis. She was the only I keep in touch with after I got my transplant. She was one of the only people in my life to kept  pushing me to get a transplant & to keep my head up when I was in a bad place. She was kind & had a really good & loving heart. She would do anything for anyone. There are no words that can describe how big her heart is. She will be missed & always be loved till the end of time.

Desi was a lovely, kind woman and a warrior. I used to see her every week at Fred Meyers back in the day when she worked there.
Meeting her at the Last Hurrah was where I first experienced her kindness and big heart! 
Being at her birthday party a few years back (at McCormacks) was a fun way to reconnect and see her.

I am deeply saddened by our loss.
 I met Desiree (Desi) in high school and have many fond memories of catching up with her around the city as the years went by, It could be at work or a formal function -her good nature was legendary even when up against  substantial adversity she persevered with noted style  vim and vigor.
She is classic Portland, she is classic Desiree.
