Annalee Bickmore

Annalee Bickmore was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Bryan Ray and Nancy Lee (Schultz) Bickmore on July 29th, 1964. When Annalee was two years old, her family relocated to Kirkland WA and she attended grade school in Kirkland. Annalee was a vivacious, intelligent little girl and she had many friends. She was then known as the “boss of the neighborhood” and would hold “school” in the garage -Annalee of course assumed the role of “teacher”. Annalee had a very special relationship with her grandfather H. Lee Schultz. The two had a secret language. She was his “omelet” and they loved to dance together. She had two siblings – a sister Becki and a brother Brett. In 1975, Annalee returned to Salt Lake City and she attended West High School. She was a member of the pep club for all four years. She entered the work force at age 15 ½ and her first job was at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Annalee graduated from West High in 1982.

Following graduation, Annalee attended the University of Utah for a year and later moved to Escondido, CA where she lived for a few years. She moved to Beaverton, OR in 1989 to work for Bryan Bickmore Dodge, her father‘s automotive business where she worked many positions.

Annalee was blessed with her first child, daughter Shelby, in 1994. Annalee was married to James Reed on December 17, 1999. The two were blessed with twin sons – James Lee and Bryan Ray. Annalee and James later separated in 2002.

It has been said that Annalee’s children were “her whole life” – she did everything she could for her children and she was her daughter Shelby’s very best friend. She had an immense love for her whole family and she showed that love in so many ways. She always showed up for family events and she especially loved visits to be together with her family at their beach house in Seaside, OR.

Annalee enjoyed rock music – some of her favorites were Van Halen, The Band, Fleetwood Mac, The Cars, and Bruce Springsteen. She loved home-cooked meals and fresh fruit. Her favorite color to wear was black. Many have noticed that Annalee was never comfortable with the temperature of the room she occupied - it was always either too hot or too cold.

Annalee will be remembered as someone who never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She was accepting of people and she loved them just as they were. Annalee liked to make people laugh and it has been said that she was “the light in everyone’s life”. Throughout her life, when faced with challenges and health related hurdles, Annalee always did the very best she could. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, co-worker, and friend and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Annalee is survived by her loving daughter, Shelby Lyn Slack; sons, James Lee and Bryan Ray Reed; her parents Bryan Bickmore and Nancy Vaughn; sister, Becki Christian (Stephen); brother, Brett Kee (Vickie); nieces: Opal, Emma, and Zoe Christian; nephews: Justin, Ryan, Brandon, and Jordan Kee; uncle, Kent Bickmore; aunts: Christie Schultz, Marianna Bolinder, Sylvia Schultz, and Karen Judkins (Merlin); Cousin, Jauna Rae Bickmore, and many cousins, co-workers, and friends.

Annalee is predeceased by her grandparents on both sides of her family and her aunt, Linda Valerio (Max).

A celebration of Annalee’s life followed by a reception will take place at Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR, on Monday, October 24, 2016, at 2pm.
