Troy Mason Pratt

Sanford-Troy M. Pratt age 41 of Sanford a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend died suddenly on Sunday morning December 23, 2012 at his residence. Troy was born in Portland, Maine on August 19, 1971 to Robert M. Pratt and Linda E. Wallace Pratt.

He attended Westbrook schools and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1990 and Brighton Academy Preparatory School in 1991. He attended the University of Maine in Orono and started his working career at the Main Post Office in Portland, Maine. He was there for 5 years. From There, He went to the Shaws Warehouse in Wells, Corning Inc. in Kennebunk, and Measured Progress of Dover and Rochester NH.

He enjoyed all sports and participated in ice hockey, baseball, and football while attending school. In 1983, He and the Casco Bay Ice Hockey Team went to Avasta, Sweden to participate in the MECCA Cup Tournament. It was during that time in Sweden that he met Sven Ole Standal, who later came to Westbrook to live with Troy and his family while attending high school and the University of Maine in Portland. He also included music and chatting with his friends on Facebook and Twitter amongst his favorite activities.

Troy is survived by his mother Linda Gorman and step father Richard H. Gorman of Sanford, a sister Tonya Skidds and her husband Earl Skidds of Berwick, step brothers Scott Gorman Sr. and his wife Lisa of North Berwick, Andrew Gorman and his wife Jessica of Bell Canyon, CA, Michael Gorman and his wife Kayla of Morgan City, LA, plus several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Troy’s father, Robert M. Pratt Jr., passed away in 1988.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland, Maine. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. with Rev. Phil Shearman officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook.
