Born on June 14, 1942, and raised in Portland, Maine, Marianne was the daughter of Mario Mastroluca and Katherine Howard Mastroluca. She attended Cathedral High School and later graduated from the University of Maine, where she further cultivated her love for learning.
Marianne had a fulfilling career as a high school teacher, dedicating 20 years to teaching at Biddeford High School, where she inspired countless students with her knowledge and enthusiasm.
Marianne had been married to the love of her life, David Bartholomew, for over 57 years. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. David passed away 18 months ago, and Marianne has now joined him in eternal peace.
She was a voracious reader, always with a book in hand, and enjoyed sharing her love of literature with family and friends. Marianne also had a fondness for shopping, finding joy in discovering new treasures and sharing them with loved ones. Her generosity knew no bounds; she was always ready to lend a helping hand or provide a thoughtful gift.
She is survived by her devoted children, Marc Bartholomew and Erika Jorgenson, her son-in-law, Tim Jorgenson, and her beloved sister, Jean Todd, and brother-in-law, Fraser Jones. Marianne was a best friend to her children, with whom she spoke daily, offering love, support, and wisdom.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will miss her sweet smile and warm hugs more than we can say. While our hearts ache with her loss, we find comfort in the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind.
There will be no services at her request.
