SCARBOROUGH – Lisa Eileen Ballou, 42, of Scarborough, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 12, 1968 in Lynn, MA. the daughter of the late Robert G. Parker and Barbara L. (Melrose) Parker.
Lisa was a strong woman with a tremendous amount of courage and determination. Lisa continued to better herself even during the trials of the cancer. She was pursuing her Masters Degree in finance with Southern New Hampshire University. She loved to travel, especially to Florida to spend time with her mother. She was an avid sports fan, loyal to her Boston teams. Lisa loved her dogs, Marley and Katie, two black labs whom she considered her children.
She is survived by her loving companion, John Torpie; her 105 ½ yr old grandmother, Marion Wing; mother, Barbara Parker; brothers, Steven Fowler, Edward Parker, David Parker; sister, Lauren Pierce and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, located on 199 Woodford Street in Portland.
The Rite to Episcopal Burial will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.at St. Luke’s Cathedral 143 State St. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Reception will follow at the Portland Club.
