Eugenia Johanna Johnson

Johanna was born on October 5, 1955 to Eugenia (Valenti) and Allen Pinksen in Deols, France at Châteauroux-Déols Air Force Base. After graduating from St Mary of the Annunciation High School in 1973, she went on to study Nursing at Northeastern University.

In 1986, she met Larry Johnson, and they wed in 1987, going on to have one child together Peter, to add to their children from previous marriages: Gina, Shawn and Maria.

After leaving nursing to be a stay at home mom, Johanna spent her time gardening, baking, making jam, spending time with and caring for friends and family. She enjoyed spending time at the beach in Marshfield at her grandmother’s home as well as watching family enjoy the lake upta camp in Denmark. She loved talking about anything Boston related and would never turn down some chocolate. Johanna could be considered a “devout italian” and was known to never pass up a bargain or reduced rack. She dabbled in different crafts and was a skilled saver of random oddities. If someone was in need, she was known to drop everything and come to the rescue of others.

Johanna was predeceased by her mother Eugenia Pinksen-Hynes, father Allen Pinksen, and grandmother Giovanna Bianchi, as well as her beloved dog Pepo.

She is survived by her husband Larry Johnson of Denmark, ME, children: daughter Gina Villare of Cairns, Australia, son Shawn Johnson and his wife Kathryn of Windham, ME, daughter Maria Villare of Chelmsford, MA, and son Peter Johnson of Portland,ME, her grandchildren Danielle and Thomas Johnson, her brother Michael Pinksen and wife Kelly, as well as many cousins and close friends.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday April 9, 2024 from 2 PM – 3 PM with a memorial service from 3 PM - 4 PM at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford Street Portland, Maine.
