Eric Ng was born in Durham, North Carolina on August 11, 1982. He spent most of his life in Westbrook, Maine. He graduated from Westbrook high school, attended the University of Maine, and worked as a Surgical Services Specialist at Maine Medical Center, where he impacted the lives of both his patients and his co-workers. His boundless energy and infectious sense of humor were a delight.
Eric and his sweet wife Elizabeth made their home in New Gloucester, Maine. They especially enjoyed outdoor activities together. They hiked, kayaked, and climbed mountains. In fact, Eric proposed to Elizabeth deep inside an ice cave at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska.
Eric and Elizabeth have two children, Xander and Adeline. Eric loved being a dad. He could often be found spending time with Xander and Addy, teaching them to enjoy the activities he loved, and introducing them to the world around them.
Eric passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2020. In addition to his beautiful young family, Eric leaves his mother Laurette Ng of Juneau Alaska, his father John Peterson (and his wife Vivian) of New Bern, North Carolina, and his sister, Elizabeth Casner (along with her husband Scott and their two sons. Bradley and Brayden) of Swansboro, North Carolina. Eric’s brother, Baby John, his maternal grandparents, Bing and Suzanne Ng, and his paternal grandparents, Stanley and Carolyn Peterson, preceded him in death.
Eric was a bright spot in the lives of those who loved him. He is greatly missed by his family, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A graveside service celebrating Eric’s life will be held on June 12, 2020 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook, Maine at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric’s honor may be made for Adeline’s and Xander’s future education.
