On September 13, 2023 she passed away peacefully with her 2 sisters Betty & Denise by her side.
She was Predeceased by both her parents.
She is Survived by her siblings, Bert O. Johnson of Haverhill MA, Betty Fisk and her Husband Dan of Monterey TN, Denise Cass and her husband Fred of Freeport, and Wayne L Johnson Sr. of Pownal. Also many nieces, nephews, greats & great-greats.
She attended Woodford's School where she received her diploma.
She worked for many years at the Morrison Development Center in Falmouth where she learned to work with flowers. While at the Morrison Center she also did photography. 1 of her pictures, a picture of a flower was actually donated to Maine Musuem of Art where it was auctioned off and proceeds were donated back to the Morrison Center. This was a very big deal for Cindy, she even adopted the Artist name of "CJ". She later would learn how to do American Sign Language where she would communicate with her roommates without the knowledge of her support staff. She found this to be very entertaining. Among many things, Cindy really enjoyed painting, bowling and she especially enjoyed being the captain for 5 yrs, dancing and learning how to cook, as well as vacationing with her Sister Betty & brother in law Dan.
She participated in the Special Olympics where she received many medals!
She gave many hours to the Meals on Wheels program helping them to set up meals that would be distributed.
All of these things gave her great pleasure, but nothing like the Joy she got from going to church. For many many years Cindy faithfully attended Greater Grace Bible Church in South Portland, once the church relocated to Gorham it was a bit more difficult for her to attend. But she was always ready to go when a ride would present itself.
For the last 22 years Cindy has enjoyed the company of her roommates and the support staff of Creative Works Assisted Living Program.
A private burial will be held with family. .
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantagePortland.com for the Johnson family.
