Carlo F. Savino, 88, of Gorham, Maine and formerly of Portland, Maine and the Bronx, New York passed away in the early morning hours of May 16th, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Carlo was born on June 9, 1928 in New York, NY to Anna (Minucci) Savino and Ralph Savino. He entered the United States Marine Corps in 1945, serving in WWII and continuing his service until 1949. He married the love of his life Theodora Nuzzolo on August 25, 1951 and together they raised their three children Dennis J. Savino, Karl A. Savino, and Richard P. Savino. Carlo was an avid sports fan, but he was happiest watching his New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox. He enjoyed attending as many of his children’s and grandchildren's extra-curricular events as possible. He volunteered for many years as a Little League umpire in the Bronx as well as in Portland, Maine. After 45 years of living in the Bronx, Carlo and Theda relocated to Portland, Maine where he spent the remainder of his years. Carlo touched so many lives in the places that he lived and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends

Carlo is predeceased by his parents Anna and Ralph Savino, his brother Ralph Savino, and his eldest son Dennis Savino. He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years Theodora Savino, brother Dominic Savino and wife Catherine of Lodi, New Jersey; sister in-law Rose Savino of Long Island, New York; sons Karl Savino and wife Carla of Gorham, Maine; Richard Savino and wife Deborah of Long Island, New York; and grandchildren Anthony Savino and wife Kathryn of Portland, Maine; Lauren Savino of Campbell Hall, New York; Joseph Savino of Scarborough, Maine; and Alexis and Dennis Savino of Long Island, New York.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
