Annie Windsor Wyman, 70, of Walpole Maine, transitioned peacefully surrounded by family and so much love on March 5th 2017. Annie was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on November 25, 1946 to Bettina and Richard Wyman.
She is survived by her daughter Sara Bertland of Portland, Maine and her son Nathan Bertland of Missoula, Montana.
Annie was a graduate of Franconia College and the Rolf Institute. She opened On Balance in Portland’s Old Port in 1992, among the very first integrative wellness centers in Maine. She was a visionary and pioneer providing a nourishing environment for integrative and healing practitioners to grow and flourish at a time when holistic healthcare not widely acknowledged. Annie moved to the Midcoast and continued her work as a rolfer and teacher eventually putting roots down in Clarks Cove’s ‘Mudfog Farm’. It was at Mudfog Farm when not using her hands to heal, that she was using her hands to grow beautiful gardens. The fruits of her labor were always plentiful; sharing all she had grown with her beloved community. Annie was also an avid sailor. She traveled Maine’s coastline up and down collecting the most excellent rocks that were always so perfectly placed in her gardens. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten. Annie was the most genuine and loving individual. She was a light and left the world a better place than she found it.
We will celebrate Anne’s life in the spring, her favorite time of the year, when the ground renews again.
