Peter had a heart made for love and living. He met Catherine Brango and formed a union that lasted 68 years. Peter and Catherine welcomed 2 daughters Joanne and Arlene Salvatore.
The happy couple resided in Clark, NJ for 29 years before moving to Port St Lucie, FL.
Peter was a proud service man that was drafted at the age of 18. During his time in the Army, Peter was a part of WWII, Philippines and the Korean Conflict.
Peter was an electrician with Wagner Electric for many years, which made him everyone's favorite "Handyman", well into his Golden Years.
Peter had many hobbies and interest such as; Playing pool, watching sail boats, listening to Frank Sinatra and other Big Band musical groups. Peter also enjoyed the comradery he shared with his friend at the senior center. Peter did have a strong affection for sports. His favorite team was the New York Yankees. Also, Peter was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.
To know Peter, is to know that he loved helping people. His family and especially his grandchildren brought him joy. Peter took pride in being the caregiver of his beautiful wife Catherine until her passing in 2019.
Peter is survived by daughter Joanne Frost (Bill) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and daughter Arlene Occhipinti (Charles) of New York; grandson Charles Occhipinti (Laura), granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth, granddaughter Caitlin Nicole and great granddaughter Olivia Grace.
Peter was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Salvatore; father John Salvatore and mother Josephine Salvatore.
A visitation for Peter will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Aycock Funeral Home, 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983. A funeral service will occur Friday, May 21, 2021 11:00 AM at St. Lucie Catholic Church, 280 SW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St Lucie, FL 34983 with military honors to follow promptly after. A reception will occur Friday, May 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1504 Southeast Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.
