Jesse was born in Rockville Center, NY on August 29,1944 and grew up in Hauppauge, NY. He enlisted in the Army upon graduating high school and earned his Civil Engineering degree upon his return from Vietnam. Jesse served his country with great honor, enjoyed showing and breeding Lhasa Apsos, photography, entertaining and spending time with family.
Jesse was preceded in death by his first wife Regina Chiarini and second wife Leslie Townsend. Jesse is survived by his two sisters Ann Ban and Dawn Warren; his five children Jesse of Canton OH, Michael of Dallas TX, Christopher of Northville NY, Vittoria of Cocoa Beach FL and step-son Matthew of Port Saint Lucie, FL. Jesse will also be missed by his 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Jesse served several tours in Vietnam with the Special Operations group (MacVSog). His service to his country also included being a heroic first responder to the World Trade Center disaster on 9/11/2001. He did not leave Ground zero when the search ended but remained as an advisor to the demolition, stabilization and clean up teams.
In observance of the current health crisis (COVID-19), Jesse’s family will be holding a small celebration of life gathering at his son Michael’s Florida home in late December. The family wishes to acknowledge the joy brought to Jesse’s life by his circle of friends & colleagues and we pray that you take time to remember this man who served country, family and friends with love and honor.
