It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James (Jim) Lawrence Reed, 73, of Tradition in Port St Lucie, FL, on February 8, 2023, with his wife at his bedside. He battled pulmonary fibrosis for 2 years as a result of COVID.
James is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sue Norman Reed, his sister, Jane Reed Grinsted, his brother, local artist Gregg W Reed (Lori), sister in law Anita Norman (Bob Bryan) plus 6 nieces, 3 nephews, 7 great nieces, 1 great nephew and 2 great grandnieces.
James is predeceased by his parents D.C.Reed Jr and Lawrence Elizabeth Reed.
James was born January 4, 1950 in Fort Pierce, FL. He graduated Dan McCarty High School Class of 68, graduated Indian River Community College in 1970, attended the University of Florida and graduated Barry University in 1988.
James retired in 2010 after 32 years as a building inspector for the City of Port St Lucie.
James had many passions in life. He loved to travel, both domestically and internationally, visiting over 70 countries and 48 states. He also loved boating, fishing, hiking, motor cycling and sharing memories of his travels.
An informal gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be held Sunday February 26, 2023 at 11 am at Aycock at Tradition, 12571 SW Tradition Pkwy, Port St Lucie, FL.
