Rico was born in Brooklyn, New York. He very recently moved to Florida 18 months ago and was the happiest he'd been in years and married the love of his life. Rico honorably and proudly served in the 25th Calvary Combat Infantry during the Vietnam War. He earned Two Purple Hearts, the Oak Leaf Cluster Metal, and a Bronze Star. Rico was an iron worker for many years. He was active in both the VFW and American Legion. Rico was honored to be the only white male inducted into The Warriors Society, a Native American Organization while residing in Montana. Rico was a outdoorsman, was a beach goer, and fishing enthusiast. When at home, he was known to be taking care of his plants and finding a home improvement project to occupy his time. He enjoyed music, most importantly hearing his wife Donna sing to him.
Rico was preceded in death by his son, Amerigo Vespucci III; and brother, Michael Vespucci.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Vespucci; daughters, Tanya Denetti (Tommy); grandchildren, Anthony and Isabella Denetti; sisters, Gloria and Diane; niece, Jeanine; stepsons, Tommy, Peter,and Michael; step daughter, Kathleen; step grandchildren, David, Nicholas, Christopher, Brian, and Gianna.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at 11 am at St Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, Florida . Services will be held with Military Honors in New York.
