July 29, 1949 – January 15, 2022
Rebecca “Becky” Schulze of South Daytona, FL passed away on January 15, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Becky was born on July 29, 1949 to Holly Arnold and Verna Naomi Frye in West Virginia. She is survived by her husband: Carl;
children: Patty, Holly (John Gunter), Sherry (Matt Rodgers), Carl (Beccy);
Grandchildren: Christa, Kiersten, Michael, Thomas, Taylor, Aiden, Emma;
Great Grandchildren: Brantley, Kyleigh, Alayna;
Siblings: Phala, and Alan.
Her passing was preceded by her father: Holly Arnold Frye, mother: Verna Naomi Frye (Gill), and brother: Holly Arnold Frye II.
Becky grew up in Florida and attended Lake Worth High School. It was in Lake Worth that she met her husband, Carl Schulze, and they later married on June 9, 1973. During their almost 49 wonderful years together, they spent many years singing with their children in a gospel group at churches, nursing homes, and retirement centers. They also loved working together as Sunday School teachers and Youth Group leaders, where Becky was known as “the enforcer”.
Through the years Becky enjoyed music, singing, painting, crafting, and traveling. But what she enjoyed most was getting to spend time with her family and friends. Whether it was sharing a meal, playing cards, or just hanging out; much laughter and love could always be found.
Becky spent many years working as a beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics, she also was a certified nurse, certified in professional food management, a substitute teacher, owner of Dairy King, and assistant to the chief flight instructor at Embry Riddle where she successfully completed her first solo flight.
Becky was deeply devoted to her faith and is quoted as saying:
“I decided it was time to accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior. Now, I look forward to eternal life, where time has no value.”
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.
A small Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 28 at 1pm at
Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange FL, 32129.
