Normand John Robert, 95, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at his residence in Port Orange, FL. He was born on December 7,1928, in Massena, NY, raised in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada, raised his family in Wolcott, CT, then retired in Daytona Beach Shores, FL. He was the beloved husband of Aline (Roy) Robert for 74 years.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, a skilled eyelet toolmaker and business owner of a metal stamping manufacturing company in Wolcott, CT. He learned Judo at the Waterbury, CT YMCA, achieved a black belt, taught lessons and was a competition judge. He was a world traveler, whose life goal was to step foot on every continent on earth, which he accomplished in Antarctica at the age of 80. For many years he and his wife Aline traveled all over the United States and Canada in their Roadtrek RV. He loved to make people laugh and was known for his endless jokes and stories, even up to his last days.
Norm will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his wife Aline, his children Doris Brody (Bob), Marc Robert (Geraldine), Michael Robert (Michele) and Lise Bowman (Steve), his grandchildren Kelli Cyr (Jason), Cassidy Nguyen (Chris), Ryan Robert, Lauren Robert, sister Loretta Roland, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gisele Gagnon, Claude Robert, Denise Usereau and his grandson Kevin Robert.
The family would like to thank The Countryside Lakes staff and Vita’s Hospice Care for providing excellent care during his final days.
