Jerry Lee Wiegand, 76, of Port Orange, passed away on June 4th, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born August 13th, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio, and was the son of the late Ruby Mae Walden and Elmer Caskey. Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Gurtha Wiegand, daughter Donna Dugan, brother Larry "Butch" Walden, sister Gayle Walden, nephew Doug Fultz, and great granddaughter Angel Rayne. Jerry was a former solider of the US Army (1956-1964), a family man, avid fisherman, traveler, and enjoyed weekly poker nights with his buddies. He is survived by his children: Sue (Ray) Pelletier, Patty Teague, Ronnie Wiegand, and Kristie Wiegand; his grandchildren: Becky Freeze, Gary Freeze, Destiny Teague, Amber Wiegand (of Cross Lanes, WV), Joe Dugan, Blayne Zatell (of Macomb, MI), and Moriah Wiegand; great grandchildren: Austin Freeze, Haylee Butts, Laila Pearsall, Abigail "Abby" Allen, Ava Freeze, and Braylee Teague; and brother and sisters: Linda Fultz, Charlie Caskey (Fairborn, OH) and Patty Ann Scholl. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones and his extended family.
Services will be held on June 8th at Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Drive, Port Orange. Visitation is at 10 am with services beginning at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at Daytona Memorial Park, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach with VFW Post 3282 conducting military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to March of Dimes in his memory.
