Donald E. Rist

Born January 16, 1937, in Uniontown, PA, he left us 1 day short of his 85th birthday on January 15, 2022.

He was a resident of Twinsburg, Ohio for 53 years and also has a residence in Port Orange, Florida.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Jane (Suder) Rist.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald James and Helen Marie (Cullison) Rist, brothers, Kenneth Lawrence Rist, John Fletcher “Bud” Rist and sister, Dorothy Jean Rist Pavlick and 2 other baby siblings.

He has a surviving sister. Nancy (Carrie) Rist Kowalski. Don leaves behind five children, Gary Rist, Donna Rist Pace (Glenn), William Rist (Louise), Lois Jane Rist Hurst (Roger), Randy Rist (Diana). He also leaves behind 16 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Don was the owner of D & L towing of Twinsburg, Ohio, he was a member of the Twinsburg Rotary Club and a Teamster.

He was a supporter of anything Twinsburg especially the public safety forces. He was a Twinsburg Legend.

He was also a lifelong NASCAR fan and attended many races on a regular basis since 1977.

Don was a mentor and father figure to many and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

There will be a memorial service on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM at La Costa Village Clubhouse located at 1275 La Costa Village Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129 with a funeral service to be announced at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 9819 Darrow Rd, Twinsburg, OH.
