Bertha Ashley

Bertha Ashley, 90, of South Daytona, FL, formerly of Flat Rock,AL died peacefully on April 14, 2013 in Port Orange, Fl. She was born August 22, 1922 in Eunice, LA daughter of the late Oliva (Guillory) and Maurice Fruge. Mrs. Ashley was a woman of great faith and was a member of the United Church of God. She was a supportive mother and a mentor to many. She loved children. In addition to raising her daughter she was a foster parent to 8. French was her primary language until the age of 15 when she learned English. Her hobbies included quilting crocheting and reading. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Linda Hale and her husband Ronnie of S. Daytona, Fl.; granddaughters Vickie Sledge and her husband Keith of Flat Rock, AL, Lacy Gifford and her husband Alan Agard of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, LT. Zachary Gifford of Yokosuka-shi, Japan and great granddaughters, Tiffany, Stephanie, Amanda and Zelda. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert D Ashley of Flat Rock, AL 3 brothers and a sister.
