Mary A. Busby

Mary A. Busby, 66, of Lolita passed away June 18, 2023. She was born October 3, 1956 in Port Lavaca to Nathan Bundick and Lillian Rich Ballard. At a young age, she was raised by Lillian and J.T. Ballard, whom she considered her dad. Mary worked as a waitress starting at Marie’s Pizza Palace, then moved on to the Kettle, Wagon Train, and lastly, she worked in the cafeteria at Industrial High School. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing canasta and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Sonny Busby; daughter, Heather Dunagan; sons, Morgan Buckley, Dominic Busby (Dani), and Michael Dana (Marie); her “adopted boys”, Avery Milner and Ethan McMullen (Jenna); favorite nephew, Robert Bundick; brothers, James Ballard (Dora) and Paul Bundick (Sandy); 4 grandchildren, Carter Wilson, Lillian Bauer, Olivia Krause, and Cheyenne Hunt; and 1 great-grandchild, Jenevieve.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy Williams; and brothers, Richard Bundick and Cecil Bundick.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lolita with Gary Thedford officiating.
